Agility Awards

AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
Agility Springer of the Year award is calculated by reviewing the scores of the top 15 dogs by QQs with a minimum of at least 10 QQs, and then ranking these dogs by yards per second (YPS) for the fastest 10 QQ runs.  The dog with the best YPS from the 10 QQ runs will win the Agility Springer of the Year award.  This award can be won by the same dog more than once.

PREFERRED AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
Preferred Agility Springer of the Year award is based on a total of all Preferred Standard and Jumpers With Weaves qualifying runs. Ties in scores are broken based on the fastest average yards per second.

NOVICE AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
Novice Agility Springer of the Year award is based on the average of first six qualifying runs needed to achieve Novice Standard and Novice Jumpers With Weaves titles. Ties in average scores in are broken based on fastest average yards per second.

OPEN AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
Open Agility Springer of the Year award is based on the average of first six qualifying runs needed to achieve Open Standard and Open Jumpers With Weaves titles. Ties in average scores in are broken based on fastest average yards per second.

EXCELLENT AGILITY SPRINGER OF THE YEAR
Excellent Agility Springer of the Year award is based on the average of all qualifying runs needed to achieve Excellent Standard (STD) and Excellent Jumpers with Weaves (JWW) titles. To qualify, a dog must have at least three STD scores and at least three JWW scores. Ties in average scores are broken based on average yards per second of the three fastest STD time and three fastest JWW times. If further tiebreaking is required, the four fastest times of each, then five fastest times of each, etc. will be used until the tie is broken.

The following apply to the above indicated awards:
  1. Only scores/titles earned while an ESSFTA member in good standing will be considered. Application for membership does not constitute membership. (Please note that there may be a waiting period of up to ninety days to complete the application process.)
  2. If the dog is owned by more than one individual, ALL individuals must be members of the ESSFTA for at least six months prior to the end of the award year.
  3. The award year is the calendar year, January 1 to December 31.
  4. Scores will be verified by the National Awards Committee with AKC records and winners notified directly.
  5. Any disputes with respect to interpretation or application of the rules will be referred to the Board of Governors for resolution. The Board's decision will be final.
