I am very humbled and also proud to have achieved this award for the second year in a row. Dazzle is a wonderful dog who loves agility. He is a true testament to the breed in terms of athleticism, biddability and temperament. He is truly a one in a million dog. Thank you ESSFTA for recognizing us with this award. Thank you to his breeders Billie and Tim Edwards for breeding a wonderful dog who loves to work and who fills our lives with joy! We are truly blessed.
2017 EXCELLENT AGILITY SPRINGER
CH CEDARWOOD'S MARGARET PEARL AX AXJ
Maisie
Owned by Kyle Elsom, Susan Zach-Elsom, and Pat Welch
Average: Score 100, 4.25 YPS
Maisie is our 3rd ESS. She chose me as her “person” during our litter visit at Cedarwood’s. She was adopted as a pet, but we soon discovered that not only was she a wonderful pet, she also had brains, energy and beauty. After breezing through basic obedience classes, we decided to give agility a try. As a Novice A handler, we sailed through Novice classes with 6 straight Q’s. When we hit Open, I soon discovered that we had a lot to learn.
Maisie is a thinker and continues to challenge me as a handler. With Maisie, mistakes are not allowed, so she will let me know if my handling is inappropriate for the course. We hit our stride again in Excellent and are now working our way towards our MACH. Even with the occasional challenges, Maisie is a joy to work with. She learns fast and is always eager to please.
Many thanks to my trainers and supporters, the people we’ve met and the friends we have made have been the best part of this journey. Special thanks to Pat Welch of Cedarwood’s ESS for entrusting us with this sweet girl. Last but not least, my wife Sue, whose continuous support has made the good times better and the not so good times more tolerable.
Thanks to the ESSFTA for this honor.

PenE
Owned by Kathy Patregnani & Sofia Colburn
Average: Score 100, 4.43 YPS
PenE ran her heart out and was able to follow in her mommy’s paw prints earning Open SOY, just as her mom did a few years ago. She did that by the skin of her cropped tail, waiting till Dec. 30 to earn that last and final leg. Sure made me sweat.
Fast with fairly tight in her lines, PenE loves the game; and she’s always willing to play.
Thank you ESSFTA for honoring PenE with this award.

Thank you ESSFTA for honoring my little girl with this wonderful award.
PenE was from my litter of 7- 6 girls one boy. With MACH parents, she had some big paws to fill. From the litter she was chronically the “naughty, creative one”, how could I not keep her?
We began our agility training straight out of the gate, and PenE was a natural. Quick to pick up new concepts, and always will to try, she made things easy for me.
With limited trialing, she was able to pull off This year end award, just as her Daddy did years ago.
Way to rock it PenE!

Niki
Owned by B.A. Breese
Niki has made all my agility dreams come true. She has earned 2 MACHs and 4 PACHs, along with various other titles. She has qualified for the AKC National Agility Championship (NAC) for the past 3 years. The first NAC we attended, she came in 14th in her 12-inch Preferred class. She just turned 11, but I plan on continuing her agility career as long as she is happy and eager to run. I truly believe this sport keeps both of us healthy and young. Thank you for honoring Niki with the Year End Award.
